Reggae usage commemorates worldwide at 4.20 pm on 20 April every year. The petition requesting the lifting of the ban on Cannabis in Sri Lanka was forwarded by e-mail to the Government of Sri Lanka at 4.20 pm on 20 April 2020. In October 2020 the Minister of Trade in Sri Lanka Bandula Gunawardena presented a copy of the publication “Thrailokya Vijaya” written by Wasantha Sena Weliange to a Canadian diplomat and also later indicated that efforts will be made to cultivate Cannabis to develop the economy of the country.
